North Warren is represented by 5 talented students. Taylor Olson has two photographs in the exhibit and Kerrianne Belline, Julianna Dewar, Chelsea Yosco, and Melinda Parker each have a photograph in the show. Make sure you stop by and see the exhibit. The show is on display until November 8th.

O’Keeffe Flowers

My students have finished their Georgia O’Keeffe inspired flowers. They were drawn using oil pastels. Students looked at fresh flowers as a reference for their drawing. I have photos of Advanced Drawing and Drawing/Painting as well as Studio in Art. The advanced class drawings are larger in size 19″x25″ while the Studio in Art drawings are 9″x12″.

O’Keeffe at the Hyde Museum

Hyde Okeeffe showIn early September students in Studio in Art, Drawing & Painting, Advanced Drawing, and a several elementary students  visited the Hyde Museum to view the Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit. Students spent time in the Butterfly Garden, drawing flowers from observation in the style of O’Keeffe. Students then viewed O’Keeffe’s artwork in the gallery. Students were also able to see several photographs by Alfred Stiegliz.

Reflecting on the museum visit, students interpreted a flower inspired by the style of O’Keeffe. Students enlarged a flower using oil pastels.

Photo II End of the Year

Photo II Class

It has been an eventful exciting year in Photography! It is time to say goodbye. This is my Photo II group of students. Most I had in Photo I at the beginning of the year and they continued on to Photo II. This was a creative group of students. We had fun learning the basics of photography. These students were dedicated. They even took time on their weekend to take a field trip in the cold of winter to photograph motion in downtown Glens Falls. It was cold but so much fun! During our last critique yesterday I was able to see how much they had progressed through the year. They are a talented group and I will miss them as most of them are graduating. Best wishes!
