Students are finishing construction and cleaning up coil pots. Students were challenged with how to shape coils to create a variety of designs and use negative space in their piece.
Chestertown Library has an exhibit featuring work created by North Warren students: Myuh Bezio, Hannah Kenney, Sarah Phillips and Gabrielle Vaisey.
The artwork in the exhibition is a culmination of work done by willing students inspired by their surroundings and the writings and images compiled by Paul Jameison in “The Adirondack Reader”.
This was all made possible by the an educational grant through Warren County decentralization, whereby grants are awarded for educational purposes.
Erica Leonard, North Warren High School Art Teacher and Betsy Krebs alumni, and art teacher at Queensbury high school.
As an alumni of North Warren Central School, and being published in Jameison’s Adirondack selections, I chose to use this compilation as a catalyst for inspiration and guidance for the students who chose to be involved. They worked daily with Mrs. Leonard to create these beautiful pieces!
Thanks to all who made this possible
There is a 7-12 Student Art Show on display at the Chestertown Library from now until March 3rd. The show is a compilation of drawing, painting, digital media, and pottery. Stop by and see all the hard work North Warren students have been putting into the arts this year! The show is open during regular library hours.
Thank you to my wonderful helpers, Travis, Myuh, Melinda and Mr. Mawer! I appreciate your help setting up the show.
